Indian women make impressive debut in Hangzhou Asian Games cricket. Harmanpreet Kaur and her team became the Asian champions by defeating Sri Lanka by 19 runs in the final. At the Pinfeng Campus Cricket Field in Hangzhou, a bowler’s paradise, 18-year-old Titas Saduna was the highlight for Lanka. India scored 7–116 in the allotted 20 overs. Lanka’s reply ended at 97-8. It was Sadhu who took three wickets, conceding only six runs including a maiden in the fourth over, who shook Lanka right from the start. Sadhu took a wicket in the very first ball of the first over bowled and took the second wicket in that over. Captain Chamari Atthappathu (12) quickly returned the decisive in the game.
