The Indian Ministry of Health reported this Thursday the highest number of recorded daily infections of Covid-19 in the last eight months, confirming 12,591 new cases of the disease.

The health portfolio reported that the total number of active patients amounted to 65,286 cases, with the states of Kerala, Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Rajasthan reporting the highest incidence, the state institution indicated.
Likewise, an increase in the number of tests to detect the virus was reported and 92 percent of those diagnosed are in isolation at home.
The Minister of Medical Education, Girish Mahajan, reported that in Maharashtra, the authorities activated 25 hospitals equipped for the care of patients with Covid-19.
Given the situation, the official urged the use of the mask as it is the most effective method to prevent the spread of the virus.
