Index – Culture – Beton.Hofi blew up the Dome in women’s football and national team warm-up

Beton.Going to a Hofi concert is a real feeling of life. Familiar tunes and familiar faces await the audience, mostly young people of generation Z. We have a performer who clearly enjoys what he does and who is not afraid to invite other performers on stage with him.

Rivalry can be an unknown concept in his dictionary, we have the feeling that he gets along with everyone, as if anyone were put on stage next to him, he would find a common voice with him in ten seconds. And that’s exactly why the audience adores him and his work. Because it opens up to others, yet is self-identified and does not adopt the style of others: at the end of the day it remains Beton.Hofi. The Hofi who is familiar and provides a sense of comfort, like a good hug. Just like the hug he gave Krúbi on stage…

From the soccer field to the biggest arenas

Ádám Schwarcz had a great career as a football player, kicking the leather at a semi-professional level, but he really reached the top as a rapper under the name Beton.Hofi. Knowing his background as a soccer player, it is self-evident why one of the domestic favorites of new wave hip-hop gave a concert full of soccer elements in the MVM Dome.

Seeing the visual elements and the stage, the audience could immediately feel as if they were walking in a sports hall – it was so – and watching the events in the auditorium of an indoor soccer championship: a mini soccer field was set up in the middle of the square with two goals and gaudy corner flags, with four giant projectors and, of course, guys in shirts – who were also the musicians.

Beton.Hofi entered the arena like a boxer preparing for a match. In a national team warm-up with the inscription Hungary, smiling, confident, winking at a few girls from the audience, he arrived in the photo pit with a few fans, more precisely on the stage resembling a miniature football field in the middle of the Dome.

HARD RESET opened with his song together with Hundred Sins, only four minutes before the official start at 9:30 – and the audience Adi, Adi, Adi after chanting.

This will be my most important show to date, in every possible sense

– announced the concert earlier, which was certainly better in meaning and more than in appearance. He brought half the music scene to the stage, the concert featured an imaginary, but very possible, lineup of a smaller festival.

Krúbi, Co Lee, Pogány Induló, ANUBII$, Giorgio, Ajsa Luna, the Budaörs Wind Band, Dom Beats, Glsch, Marci Gyányi, Hundred Sins, Geri Háló, Kovács Gerrison, Miki357, Dávid Miller, Emma Nagy, nkn one, Pándi Balázs, Realisztik, Txy Bandi, UFO, the Vivance Mazsorett Group, VZS: based on a photo shared on social media, we could expect the aforementioned performers on stage.

Trouble in the system

And our heroes came and made the party even more intense, putting themselves on stage for a feat – it’s true, Miller, wearing a Kizza Ping T-shirt, pushed the show along with Beton.Hofi almost from the first minute to the last. Unfortunately, Miller’s voice was very weak – or the sound system was terrible – in any case, you could hardly hear anything from the arena unless he let his voice out (which happened relatively rarely). We could say the same about Krúbi, but at least he could be easily spotted on stage thanks to his colorful clothes.

The bad sound system also bothered Pogány Induló, the roar of the young rapper who performed at the MVM Dome for a month and a half also seemed weak, as if the microphone was just a decoration, not a sound amplification device. We can assume that there is a problem in the system if you cannot hear Pogány Induló’s voice… (The singers could be heard better in the stands, several people drew attention to this. On the other hand, many fans objected to the sound system in the auditorium during and after the concert.)

The female guest performer, Ajsa Luna, who also participated in Tiszalök, for example, could be heard very well compared to the other singers – perhaps the female voice is better received by the human ear? Maybe, in any case, their eyes took it in, it was refreshing to see a female face among the many male performers.

Returning to the visual aspect: it should be emphasized that the organizers did not make the work of the photographers any easier, as the lack of normal light was not the most ideal for photography. Although the spectators were able to enjoy the spectacle, the room shrouded in darkness and illuminated by colored light columns, overall it seemed a bit cheap and simple to operate only with lights except for the soccer goals – it cannot be said that the staff responsible for the visuals exaggerated the stage’s life.

We already knew at the beginning of the concert that the more than two-hour party would be interrupted once, but we were not prepared for it twice. The match atmosphere further increased in the half (or more precisely in the third period), when the Millers decided between three spectators in a penalty kick competition, who would take home the gigantic TV, the gift of the goal-scoring competition. Lajos Hegedüs, our former national team goalkeeper, defended in the goal. The two boys made a mistake, but Ariella got the ball into the goal first.

Two young girls from the audience voiced their displeasure at this scene, they were “embarrassed” by the scene. It’s true, we also laughed at them, not with them.

The bizarreness was further enhanced by the brass bands and the cheerleaders, who entertained the audience during the eight-minute break, while Hofi hid in a new outfit: a black sweatshirt. He pushed through the second half in this set, then came the third act.

Although there was no question of insensitivity, it was touching to see how beton.hofi treated his fellow musicians.

He didn’t want to overshadow them, he let the performers unfold, who apparently enjoyed the evening as much as the main character. The new tracks fit in nicely with the older songs, both in terms of style and sound. Those who bought tickets received two hours of intense Beton.Hofi music from the rapper.

The third part was already shorter, but in these approximately twenty minutes all hell broke loose. THE They have, Beton.Hofi’s biggest hit almost literally caused an earthquake, there was such a big pogo in the middle. Meanwhile, the black teddy bear set, the number 0 jersey, was removed from the singer. Dressed in her image as a white woman’s bodysuit (sleeveless leotard), she finished the concert with a few lines of an unreleased song.

As a real closure, he moved the They have for his fun version, while the other performers joined him on stage to dance under rainbow-colored lights in this comical scene. You can’t get involved in this ending…

Gergely Karácsony, mayor of Budapest, and Dávid Vitézy, candidate for mayor of the LMP, were also present at the party – the latter was caught by Index after the concert.

It was very good, I really like him, Meggyfán is my favorite from the new album. I was already at the Beton.Hofi concert on Sziget, that was also good. I was very curious about what a stadium concert is like. Surprisingly, the funny Bagira also came in

Dávid Vitézy told our newspaper.

All in all, it can be said that the party had some minor flaws, but the atmosphere was great, and in terms of the performers, we got a very high-quality and up-to-date concert: almost everyone who is important in the Hungarian new wave hip-hop world took the stage.
