OUDER-AMSTEL The number of newly identified infections with the coronavirus (COVID-19) has again increased slightly in the past two weeks in Ouder-Amstel, against the national trend. This is evident from the weekly update of the figures from the RIVM. The virus was diagnosed in 19 residents of Ouder-Amstel in two weeks (from 9 to 22 June). That is 2 more than in the previous measurement period ((from 2 to 15 June), when the virus was detected in 17 inhabitants.
Compared to the previous measurement period, the current infection rate in Ouder-Amstel therefore increased from 121.2 to 135.5 per 100,000 inhabitants. Ouder-Amstel now has the highest infection rate in the Amsterdam-Amstelland GGD region.
[DALING IN REGIO] There was a decrease in the number of new corona infections in the surrounding municipalities. In Amstelveen, the infection rate decreased slightly from 137.4 to 126.5 per 100,000 inhabitants. In Diemen, the infection rate decreased from 139.7 to 104.0 per 100,000 inhabitants compared to last week.
In Amsterdam, a significant decrease in the number of newly diagnosed corona infections was registered. Between 9 and 22 June, 758 residents of the capital received a positive test result. In the previous measurement period (from 2 to 15 June), this still happened to 1,001 Amsterdammers. The infection rate in Amsterdam fell from 114.7 to 86.9 per 100,000 inhabitants.
[LANDELIJK STERKE DALING] The number of corona infections is also declining nationally. In the past week, 36 percent fewer positive corona tests were reported than in the week before. The total number dropped from 8,981 to 5,714. The number of positive tests per 100,000 inhabitants decreased from 53 to 34 compared to a week earlier. The number of new patients who had to be hospitalized with COVID-19 fell by 35 percent from 247 to 160. percent fewer new COVID-19 patients admitted than a week earlier (from 43 to 32).
There are now nearly 13.9 million vaccinations nationwide. Since last Saturday, people with birth year 2003 can also make a vaccination appointment, which means that all adults have now received an offer for vaccination.
