In the meantime, there has been a night curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. in the district for almost a month. And the Main-Kinzig-Kreis is sticking to this curfew, the press office announced at the request of the HANAUER ANZEIGER.

Main-Kinzig district – Other neighboring districts such as the Wetteraukreis or Darmstadt-Dieburg had suspended the night curfew due to declining incidence values. This value is also declining in the MKK, the seven-day incidence was 175 on Monday.

On December 11 of last year, the district administration ordered the curfew in the most populous district of Hesse for the first time. This measure was necessary because the Main-Kinzig district had to report an incidence of more than 200 new infections on seven consecutive days per 100,000 inhabitants.

Main-Kinzig-Kreis refers to holidays

The escalation concept of the state of Hesse provides for a curfew in this case. At that time, the incidence value in the MKK was 253. This tightening of the measures was supported by all mayors in the district and on December 20 was even extended to January 10, 2021.

The district cites as a justification for the current adherence to the curfew that the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration made it clear to all districts and independent cities before Christmas that when considering the seven-day incidence value in the days before and after At the turn of the year, the reporting and laboratory delays over the holidays should also be taken into account. In case of doubt, the infection rate from before December 24th applies to the assessment, argues the district. At that time, the incidence value in the district was over 300.

General decree in the Main-Kinzig district has not yet been canceled

Since the Main-Kinzig district does not expect more reliable incidence values again until this week, the general decree, which formally runs until January 10, has not yet been canceled prematurely. Only in the course of the next few days will it become clearer in which direction the number of new infections and thus also the incidence value are moving.

As early as Monday (January 4), the Main-Kinzig district reported a significantly higher number of new infections, bringing the incidence value to 175. The regional infection situation can therefore not be located as relaxed and, above all, not reliably below the value of 200, the circle continues.

According to Kreis, no clear trend can be seen yet

District Administrator Thorsten Stolz (SPD) also commented on Facebook about inquiries about maintaining the curfew. Mainly because the district does not consider the data and facts to be sufficient and, according to Stolz, no clear trend is discernible for the MKK. Proudly again refers to the recommendation of the state of Hesse to wait for more reliable values because of the bias of the figures due to the holidays.

“We currently have to assume that the new infections currently reported in the Main-Kinzig district do not reflect the realistic occurrence of infections,” Stolz added in his Facebook post. This situation can also be seen in the still stable high number of inpatient admissions in the hospitals, says Stolz and says: “But that is exactly what each district has to assess for itself and consider and assess its developments.”

The police take stock of the curfew in the Main-Kinzig district

According to police spokesman Rudi Neu from the Presidium of Southeast Hesse, the curfew has largely been followed by the citizens. The majority of the population adheres to it, so Neu.

In the week of Christmas, the police carried out a total of 350 controls in the district area and found 108 violations. These included 14 shops and restaurants that were open despite the ban. You can expect a fine of between 500 and 1000 euros.

Curfew in the Main-Kinzig district: Increased violations on New Year’s Eve

On New Year’s Eve, the police found 20 violations of the exit restrictions. The police carried out 76 checks in the first three days of the year. She found 26 violations of the curfew. Most of them were to be reported on New Year’s Eve, according to police spokesman Neu. That night, the police also broke up a total of twelve gatherings of more than five people. The persons concerned face a fine of 200 euros.

A total of 279 reports were received for violating the curfew in the Main-Kinzig district, according to the district press office. 140 of these notifications are currently being processed and corresponding hearing procedures have been initiated. In the next three weeks, notices of fines will be issued, provided that no exculpatory reasons can be presented during the hearing. Another 139 advertisements were received recently, especially over the Christmas holidays, and will be processed next, it said.

As of Tuesday, there is a curfew, except in the Main-Kinzig district in the Gießen district (until January 12), in the city and state of Offenbach (until January 10), in the Fulda district, Limburg-Weilburg (each until January 10) as well as in the Vogelsbergkreis. In the Limburg-Weilburg and Gießen districts, the values are significantly higher than the national average.

Rapid test centers remain in operation

In the meantime, the district will keep the three rapid test centers operating beyond January 6th. If you want to visit relatives in an inpatient care facility and inpatient integration assistance facility in the Main-Kinzig district, you can continue to be tested for the corona virus in Hanau, Gelnhausen and Schlüchtern in advance every day between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m., the district said in a press release.

The test centers are located on the one hand in the August-Schärttner-Halle in Hanau and the Gelnhausen sports hall at the indoor pool, i.e. the locations of the district vaccination centers that have been prepared since mid-December. The Schlüchtern test center is still in the Ulrich-von-Hutten-Gymnasium up to and including today and will then move. From tomorrow you can find it at the Main-Kinzig-Kliniken in Schlüchtern (first floor).

“We offer this service as a separate and additional contribution to relieve the in-patient facilities,” explains the district administrator according to the announcement. While the mobile vaccination teams are simultaneously in the process of immunizing the residents and staff through vaccinations, “with the rapid test centers, we are making an external protective contribution.”

You must bring a valid photo ID and a form with which the test persons can prove that they are authorized to visit a care facility. This form is usually issued by the institutions themselves.
