• The 19-year-old Alcaraz defeated the world’s most valuable young talent twice in the previous three head-to-head matches, while this summer at the Wimbledon Championship, Sinner was superior in a four-set battle.

• For Alcaraz, who reached the final of the Hamburg 500 point tournament the previous week, this was his seventh final on the ATP tour. The Spaniard managed to win five of them. Before today’s fight, Sinner had accumulated similar statistics in the finals on the ATP tour.

• In a tense first set, the tennis players served relatively stable, the athletes did not earn any break points. The fate of the set was decided in a tiebreak, which was excellently started (5:1) by Alcaraz. • At the beginning of the second set, the Spaniard was close to broken Sinner’s serve, however, in the second game, Alcaraz missed six (!) break points, including squandering a 0-40 lead. This game became the turning point of the entire game, with Sinner also winning the next six games in a row.

• Also at the beginning of the decisive third set, Sinner eliminated the break point, Alcaraz paying for the missed opportunities with a breakdown in the next two games of his serve, when the Spanish talent was let down by inaccurate attacking shots.

• This year, for the first time, Sinners overcame the barrier of the quarter-finals of a tournament. On the other hand, Alcaras lost for the first time this season in a match in which he was superior in the first set.
