In the sands of Dakar – the name of Kretingale

Klaipėda racer Laisvydas Kancius successfully completed the Dakar Rally. He reached the finish of the 14th speed section first in the four-wheel classification. This is the second stage won by the athlete in this rally.

The quad bike and outfit of Klaipėda’s L. Kancias, who participated in the world’s most difficult rally for the third time, was decorated this time with the logo of the Kretingalė cooperative agricultural company – one of the racer’s sponsors. He covered the last stage – 136 km in 1 hour. 36 min. This is the second stage won by L. Kanciaus in this Dakar rally. He was also victorious in the 9th stage. In the general standings, the rider was 7th out of 10 finishers.
“The goal was different, but we are also happy with this result – Laisvydas gained experience,” said Valdemaras Liorenšaitis, head of the Kretingalė cooperative agricultural company. – I am a fanatic of this sport, my father Gerard is a former car racer, so we support. Having represented Lithuania, Klaipėda, Klaipėda district and Kretingala in the Dakar Rally, L. Kancius successfully completed it.”
