In the new week, self – isolation will no longer be required after entry from Bulgaria and Hungary The news

Riga, June 11, LETA. From next week, self-isolation will not be required even after entering Bulgaria and Hungary, according to information provided by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

Thus, self-isolation will not have to be observed after entering Latvia from Finland, Iceland, the Vatican, Malta, Romania, Poland, Monaco, San Marino, the Vatican, Bulgaria and Hungary.

In turn, when entering from Great Britain, Latvia will have to observe self-isolation next week as well.

For a long time, only the Vatican and Iceland were on the list of “safe countries” compiled by the SPKC, but after returning to Latvia, self-isolation had to be observed from other European countries. At the end of April, the United Kingdom was also on the list, with the most successful vaccination campaign, but later Romania and Finland were also included.

The self-isolation threshold in Latvia is currently set at 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Among the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries, only Finland, Romania, Iceland, Malta, Poland and the Vatican have lower rates.

For Britain, on the other hand, this figure has exceeded the “safe threshold” this week and is currently 79.9 cases per 100,000 population.

The SPKC informed that the 14-day cumulative rate of Covid-19 morbidity per 100 inhabitants in Latvia according to the European Center for Disease and Prevention is 202.7 (268.4 a week ago), but the average rate of the European Union and the European Economic Area continues to decrease and reach 82 .6 (a week earlier – 98.2).

In Estonia, the indicator continues to decline and reached 111.9 last week (175.9 a week earlier). Lithuania’s indicator has significantly decreased to 181.7 (a week ago – 311.8).

Self-isolation in Latvia must still be observed when returning from Estonia, Andorra, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Slovakia, France, Sweden, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Cyprus, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Croatia, Liechtenstein “Denmark , Ireland and Norway.

For countries outside the EU and the EEA, self-isolation is not required when traveling from Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia. These countries are among those allowed to cross the EU’s external border.

When entering Latvia from other countries of the world not mentioned in the lists, self-isolation must be observed.

SPKC still does not recommend going abroad, because visiting other countries is considered a high-risk factor – in some countries there is not only an increase in morbidity, but also other types of the virus circulating, which are not yet registered in Latvia.

On the other hand, if it is necessary to go abroad, then when returning for ten days, strict self-isolation measures must be observed and health must be monitored. If symptoms occur, a Covid-19 test should be performed and your GP should be consulted to decide what to do next.

It has already been reported that persons vaccinated against Covid-19 who have entered Latvia from any EU, EEA country, Switzerland or Great Britain will no longer have to comply with the self-isolation requirement by approving amendments to “Epidemiological safety measures to control the spread of Covid-19 infection”. .
