In the midst of ‘Your God is Weak’ Investigation, Ferdinand Hutahaean Confesses to Converts!

Bareskrim Polri is currently investigating the controversial tweet case Ferdinand Hutahaean ‘Your God is Weak’. In the midst of investigating this case, Ferdinand Hutahaean admitted to being a convert to Islam since 2017.

This was conveyed by Ferdinand when asked by reporters, via a chat application, about whether he would fulfill the call Bareskrim on Monday (10/1) next week. Ferdinand said he would fulfill the call. In the same series of statements, he claimed to be a Muslim.

“People have never been tabayun, asking me, who am I? I am also a Muslim, I’ve been a convert since 2017. So it’s strange for me when a Muslim feels his religion has been harassed, when I declare Allah the Muslim is strong, even though I did not mention religion there, because indeed I am not talking about the context of religion. But talking about God, talking about God,” said Ferdinand via voice note to reporters, Friday (7/1/2022).

Ferdinand admitted that he never declared himself a convert. He claimed that he was a convert to Islam accompanied by the younger brother of the 4th President of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), namely Lily Wahid.

“I’m sad. I’ve never declared myself, I’m a convert to Islam. In 2017, I converted to Islam accompanied by Mrs. Lily Wahid, Gus Dur’s late sister. But I don’t need to declare that. But people close to me know I’m a Muslim. I a convert,” he said.

Furthermore, Ferdinand Hutahaean stated that he was not a devout Muslim. But he tried to continue to explore the religion of Islam.

“That the God I believe in is a strong God who doesn’t need to be defended. Well, if my friends and fellow Muslims don’t believe it, I’m confused about what kind of religion we want to be? I’m still learning about Islam,” said Ferdinand .

“Learning about religion, studying Islam. Since 2017 I have converted to Islam. Maybe I am not a devout Muslim. But I keep trying to study it. , then I want to be imprisoned, what is this called?” he continued.

Ferdinand Hutahaean also regretted that his tweet about ‘Your God is weak’ was collided. Therefore, said Ferdinand, his opinion had caused a stir among the public.

“I will explain all this when my faith which states that I have a strong God who does not need to be defended, I will be imprisoned, punished for this, then I will become an atheist, no longer need to be religious, for what? For what religion if I believe, My faith states that I have a strong God who does not need to be defended, and that is a communication between my mind and my heart. I should be imprisoned for that, now this is the source of disaster,” added Ferdinand.

Previously, the Bareskrim Polri summoned Ferdinand Hutahaean to be investigated in the case of the tweet ‘Your God is weak’ which has now been investigated. Ferdinand Hutahaean called to Bareskrim next Monday (10/1).

“Yes, that’s right, the information was checked on Monday,” said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo when asked for confirmation, Friday (7/1).
