In Nizhyn, Chernihiv region, a garbage truck hit a six-year-old girl. The child died from his injuries.
How informs press service of the National Police, the tragedy occurred on December 4 at about 15:00. The culprit of the fatal hit has already been detained. With the 53-year-old man, the first-priority investigative actions were carried out.
According to preliminary information, the girl and her mother threw the rubbish into a container on the street and left in the direction of the bus stop.
“At this time, a garbage truck drove away from the site with containers, which probably touched a child,” the message says.

Law enforcement officers began criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “violation of road safety rules, resulting in the death of the victim.” The driver of a garbage truck faces a prison sentence of three to eight years with a possible deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
