In the case of Radio Naba – the Top 100 and prediction game of the year / Article

During 2021, a total of 409 topical compositions took place in the “Naba” charts, of which at least 40% are works by Latvian performers. In total, the audience gave almost 42 thousand votes for the compositions. The top represents compositions of various styles, as well as a wide range of countries and languages. When summarizing the results, the number of votes, the place and the number of weeks in the top list are taken into account.

From 2 pm on 29 December to 2 pm on 30 December, listeners are invited to attend forecast game, trying to determine the three compositions that will occupy the highest places in this top. The three correct answerers, the predictors, will receive prizes.

Radio Naba music instructors Nora Rieksta, Valters Mednieks, Kaspars Eglītis, Jānis Vuguls and Atis Žagars will present the hundred of the most popular compositions.

The 100 most popular songs are compiled from two weekly programs – “Top 10 LV” includes the latest compositions of Latvian performers, while “Top 25” is intended for foreign melodies. “Topi” airs every Friday, including up to ten new compositions each time.

The Top 100 is one of the oldest traditions of “Radio Naba”, which will take place on the radio airline for the nineteenth time this year. Over the years, listeners’ favorites have included musical associations and musicians such as Blanck Mass, Fever Ray, Moby, Chinawoman, Röyksopp, Beach House, Mogwai, Arcade Fire, The Cure, Imants Daksis. In 2020, the first place was won by the Canadian indie rock band “Wolf Parade” with the composition “Julia Take Your Man Home”, the second place was won by the group “Inokentijs Mārpls” with “People are dying”, and the third place was won by “Stūrī Zēvele” with the composition “Labvakar” .
