In Thailand, irritating journalists are treated like viruses!

The Thai prime minister left reporters speechless on Tuesday when he interrupted his press conference to spray them with disinfectant to dodge their questions.

Prayuth Chan-O-Cha got annoyed when journalists asked him about the existence of a list of potential candidates to replace three ministers jailed last week for participating in protests seven years ago.

“Is there anything else to ask?” He said standing at his desk. “I don’t know, I haven’t seen anything like that. Isn’t that something the prime minister should know first?”

In this live-filmed briefing, the Prime Minister then grabbed a bottle of hand sanitizer, quietly walked over to reporters sitting in front of him and sprayed the product on them while holding a surgical mask in front of his face.

He was later filmed talking with the same group of journalists, becoming more and more annoyed, speaking inaudibly while spraying them with large gestures before leaving.

A staunch defender of a deeply patriarchal society, Prayuth, a former army chief who led the 2014 military coup, is known for his good-natured, sometimes comical remarks to the media, but he also knows how to be abrupt with journalists when they annoy him with embarrassing questions.
