In seven months, 22.9% more used cars were registered in Latvia

In Latvia, 29,144 used cars were registered in seven months of this year, which is 22.9% more than in the corresponding period last year, according to the information compiled by the Car Association.

Of these, 5,618 passenger cars were registered in July 2021, which is 9% more than in July 2020.

The registration of used passenger cars in seven months of this year has increased by 22.6% – to 27,254 units, while the registration of used light commercial vehicles has grown by 27.3% and accounted for 1,890 vehicles.

The most popular in the seven months of this year were used cars of the BMW brand – 4835 such vehicles were registered, which is 17.7% of all registered used cars and 49.8% more than in the corresponding period last year.

Followed by Volvo, which registered 4,283 such used cars, which is 16.1% of all registered used cars and 18.1% more than in the corresponding period last year, Volkswagen – 3,884 vehicles or 15.3% market share, and an increase of 19.3%, Audi – 3537 cars or 13% market share and an increase of 21.3%.

The most popular model of a used passenger car in seven months this year was the BMW 3-Series – registered 1741 such cars, followed by the Audi A4 with 1269 vehicles, the BMW 5-Series with 1184, the Audi A6 with 1064 and the Volkswagen Golf “with 968 cars.

The most popular used light commercial vehicle models were the Volkswagen Transporter with 222 registered cars, the Mercedes Benz Sprinter (180), the Opel Vivaro (154), the Renaul Traffic (138) and the Renault Master (126).
