Terminal 5 of port of seattle and Everport, from Los Angeles, both on the west coast of the United States, landed new gantry cranes that will give them greater capacity to serve 20,000 TEU ships.

In Seattle they received four ZPMC Super-Post Panamax cranes, as part of the Terminal modernization project.

The cranes, which will be one of the largest on the west coast, reached the elliott bay aboard the heavy lift ship “Zhen Hua 36”. They have a reach of 73 meters and a lift height of 44.50 meters.

“We believe that The Northwest Seaport Alliance and Terminal 5 have a very strong future ahead of them,” stated Ed DeNike, president of SSA Terminals.

The Seaside (known as Everport) cranes in the Port of Los Angeles are manufactured by ZPMC, and arrived from China aboard the transport vessel Zhen Hua 26.

The new equipment will increase Everport’s gantry crane line from six to eight units, followed by one more crane.
