From the Government of Risaralda, they have indicated that there are 1,200 available doses of this biologicalTherefore, they call on people who were victims of sexual violence, men who have sex with people of the same gender, transgender women, injectable hallucinogen users, the migrant population living with HIV and homeless people, to come to the hospitals of the public network of the department or health posts and apply the Hepatitis B vaccine, free of charge.

Karol Tatiana Colorado Barrios, leader of the Sexually Transmitted Infections program of the Ministry of Health in Risaralda, points out that, in 2022, a statistic of 3.6 confirmed cases with the virus per 100,000 inhabitants in the department.

“Hepatitis is a virus that directly attacks the liver, people present manifestations such as changes in the color of their skin, severe abdominal pain, fever, some symptoms appear after a somewhat long incubation period, for this reason prevention is important, rather than treatment. This biological was delivered by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection to the territorial entities that we had high rates of events such as sexual violence, sexually transmitted infectionin order to protect the population of the department,” the official clarified.
