On the left for more than 60 years, Rezé (Loire-Atlantique) will probably not experience a political shift in the second round of municipal elections on June 28. But the outgoing mayor, the socialist Gérard Allard, is in big trouble. Arrival in 2e position on March 15, his list is 13 points behind that of Hervé Neau, one of his former assistants who resigned in 2018.

Unlike Saint-Herblain, the other big city on the outskirts of Nantes, the mergers worked well in Rezé (41,000 inhabitants). The outgoing mayor proposed a very generous alliance to the ecological list of François Nicolas, with many places eligible for the key for Europe Écologie-Les Verts in case of victory of Gérard Allard.
The three candidates were invited to debate on the France 3 Pays de la Loire stage on June 19.
