Vezeeta digital healthcare company said that all Vezeeta pharmacies are licensed by the Ministry of Health and subject to the pharmacy inspection department.

She added in a press release today, Thursday, that these pharmacies are obligated to dispense the medicine under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

The Pharmacists Syndicate had submitted a complaint to the Attorney General against the Vezeeta company for launching a Vezeeta pharmacy service and selling medicines via the Internet.

According to the company’s statement, Vezeeta provides pharmacy management services through the “Vezeeta e Commerce” company, issued according to the commercial registry of the Investment Authority, within the governorates of Cairo and Giza.

In her statement, Vezeeta added that the company has a strong ethical commitment towards society and patients, and compliance with all legal procedures set by the Ministry of Health, the Department of Medicines Affairs, the Medicine Division, the Consumer Protection Agency, the Supreme Council for Media Regulation and all concerned parties.

The company denied what is being circulated in the health sector is incorrect about the company’s services, stressing that it aims to help small pharmacies use digital technology and increase the volume of their business.

She said that what the company is exposed to leads to hindering the use of new technological applications that make it easier for patients to obtain services in a fast and safe way, which is one of the goals of the Egyptian state in using technology in the field of health care.

The statement stated that the company is keen to localize digital technology in the health field in Egypt and attract investments in this promising and important sector. Especially since Vezeeta was established with a fund financed by Egyptian government agencies, and international investment institutions from the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States of America, Sweden, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

The company succeeded in attracting investments to Egypt in excess of half a billion pounds to build a technology of international standards that would transform Egypt from an importer to a leading source in the information technology industry, and put it on the map of development and progress in front of the world, according to the statement.
