In Plouguiel, the Ajoncs d’Or club disappears after 45 years of existence – Plouguiel

After twelve years as president of the Ajoncs d’Or club, few members wish to succeed the current president Mireille Thépot. The resigning office, without replacement, marks the end of the club after nearly 45 years of existence. “I can’t stand the criticism anymore, the private problems discussed at tea parties, the interims at the club’s treasury. Despite my many calls, no one wants to take over. Overall, the entertainment was successful, the meals, the excursions, but the health crisis, the death of many members and the bad atmosphere of recent months got the better of my choice”. The 35 current members are now orphans of their club but all are unanimous in welcoming Mireille’s investment, her kindness, her sympathy, her joy and her good humor.

Ex-grocer, restaurateur, caregiver

At 79, the future octogenarian does not regret these years spent at the club but wishes to take care of herself, her children and her great-grandchildren and travel. Dynamic, open to others, Mireille has been able to bounce back many times in her professional career: sometimes grocer, then restaurateur, before moving on with a career as a nursing assistant at the University Hospital of Caen, she returned to her native Trégor with her children on the death of her husband, to take care of her mother.

Very invested in local associations and the CCAS, Guy Le Costoec thanked him on behalf of the municipality for his journey, his joy and his good humor.
