“This carnival must be celebrated in another form with an exhibition. Last week, the carnival was also held in all the schools in the city. An exhibition on the key characters of the carnival is finally visible at the media library of the village of Lamentin ”, indicates David Zobda, mayor of Lamentin, commenting on the exhibition of masks and photos.
The visit to the exhibition, visible to the public until February 28, began outside the old town hall at rue Victor Schoelcher, before continuing on to Antonio Maceo square and then outside. and inside the new town hall.
25 years of twinning
It is here that a small group composed of agents of the city distinguished themselves by offering some pieces of carnival.
Much of the photos exhibited were taken in the streets of Santiago de Cuba during the carnival. And the others in the streets of Lamentin. The plastic artist Romuald Sainte Rose is at the origin of the making of the masks with several people.
On the occasion of 25 years of cooperation between the cities of Lamentin and Santiago, festivities will be scheduled throughout the year.- .
