Everything happened after half past ten in an apartment in Hejčín, a local part of Olomouc. A police patrol from a nearby district department arrived first after reporting a fire. Police informed the whistleblower that there was at least one person in the apartment from which the smoke came out. The door to the burning apartment was ajar. Immediately after entering the apartment, the police registered smoke coming from the first floor of the apartment.

“Without hesitation, they ran out and saw the thick, thick, dark, pungent smoke coming from the bathroom. Visibility was minimal, only on the ground. With the help of loud calls and the illumination of the space by the floor, they tried to find out where the occupants of the apartment were. They found him in a room next to the bathroom leaning on a lounger. He was unable to move and did not respond to calls to leave the area to safety.
