In New York, pro-Trump protests against Biden’s nomination … all alone

While the investiture ceremony of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris was taking place under close surveillance in Washington, it was in front of the New York State Capitol that a certain Mark Leggerio chose to demonstrate on January 20. All alone, with his flag, has fun NBC News.

“All over the country, the authorities were preparing for possible demonstrations around official buildings on Wednesday [20 janvier], as Donald Trump completed his term and Joe Biden became 46e President of the United States”, remember NBC News. Indeed, the investiture ceremony which took place in Washington came two weeks after the deadly riots of January 6 on Capitol Hill. But, “At New York, ironically the American channel, it turns out there was just one guy with a flag ”.

A certain Mark Leggerio, originally from Florida, stood alone in front of the Capitol in Albany, New York, to demonstrate against the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, as shown in these images, to say the least unusual :

Dressed in a “Make America Great Again” sweatshirt, the lonely – and somewhat annoyed – protester explains to NBC News : “I wanted to come here to participate in a rally of supporters of Trump and his Patriot Party [le président sortant a évoqué la possible création d’un nouveau parti portant ce nom], but I find myself a little alone here ”. He claims to have “Only for peaceful intentions”, and hoped that January 20 would be an opportunity for the Republican Party to show it, unlike “What happened in Washington on January 6”.

For supporters of Donald Trump, January 20 was a day without major rallies, as reported by the American press.
