The UEES Clinic, located in La Puntilla, in Samborondón, began to apply the booster dose to medical personnel and students of that higher education center since Wednesday the 11th.

It is a brigade that was established to immunize doctors from the Espiritu Santo University of Specialties (UEES) and students who work and do their internships in hospitals in the city and in other cantons.

“We started with postgraduates, rural and boarding doctors. Clinic staff will also be vaccinated. There are about 1,000 people, ”said Luis Cevallos, a clinic official.

Starting this Thursday, relatives of students and alumni, whose relatives are over 65 years old and have completed their vaccination schedule (two doses), can be immunized at that point. They must register on the UEES social networks and receive a call confirming their appointment.

Ruth Quintero Sánchez, Health Coordinator of Samborondón y Durán, said that those who completed six months of their last vaccination can approach any health center. In Samborondón there are four and in Durán nine.

Those who were vaccinated abroad can also receive their booster dose by presenting their certificate.

Dr. Quintero explained that AstraZeneca is applied as a booster dose and those who have a disease such as cancer must go with their certificate from the specialist (which confirms the condition they suffer) to analyze the case.

Meanwhile, in some private schools in Guayaquil, since Wednesday the 11th, the second doses against COVID-19 have been applied to students between 12 and 17 years old, within a coordinated work between the ministries of Education and Health.

The students arrive in the company of their parents, who say they feel more comfortable with the complete immunization of their representatives.

Marcela Villao, a mother of a family, said she felt calmer with the second reinforcement against the virus that her 12-year-old son Gabriel Gutiérrez received. However, the woman said she did not agree that there is an obligation to return. (I)
