In Khmelnytsky, the number of poisoned people increased to 85

Mass poisoning at school

10 children and one adult were hospitalized in the infectious diseases hospital, 74 schoolchildren are being treated on an outpatient basis.

In Khmelnytsky, the number of victims of poisoning at school increased – up to 84 people. About it informs Khmelnytsky Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

“As of 4 pm on September 9, 85 cases of the disease have already been registered. 10 children and 1 adult have been hospitalized in the Khmelnytsky infectious diseases hospital, 74 children are being treated on an outpatient basis,” the message says.

It is noted that the patients were given a preliminary diagnosis – food poisoning, gastroenterocolitis.

Hospitalized in the “infectious diseases” are in a state of moderate severity.

“We are awaiting the results of laboratory tests, the work continues,” the Center added.

It is also reported that an epidemiological investigation has begun. 11 food workers were examined, 18 samples of food products, 110 samples of washes from environmental objects and five samples of tap water for microbiological research were taken. Disinfection was carried out in the educational institution and in the patients’ home centers.

Recall the poisoning became known the day before… Four children were first hospitalized. The educational process has been suspended until the moment when conclusions are received, which could have caused the discomfort of schoolchildren.

Later it became known that the school where the mass poisoning occurred transferred to distance learning.
