Latvian motorcyclist Kārlis Sabulis won the 18th place in the fourth stage of the MXGP class competition taking place in the Ķegums “Zelta Zirgs” track on Wednesday, but after returning to sports, Matīss Karro remained in the 28th place, according to the organizers.
The victory in this stage was celebrated by the Italian Antonio Cairoli, who represents the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team.
In the first race, Sabulis remained in 13th position, while Karro remained in 28th position. In the second race Sabulis was 18th, but Karro – 26th.
In the overall standings, Cairoli won with 43 points, followed by Jeremy Severer from Switzerland and Jeffrey Herlings from the Netherlands. Sabulim had eight points and 18th place in the stage, but Karro was ranked 28th without points.
After four stages, the leader of the overall standings is Herlings with 170 points, the second place is Slovenian Tim Gayser with 142 points, and the top three is finished by Kairoli with 129 points. Sabulis is in the 27th position with 11 points, but the injured Paul Jonas is in the 22nd position with 26 points.
His passions in Ķegums do not end with that, because the next stage is from August 14 to 16.
