Retail trade of food products increased by 5.0%. The volume of retail trade in non-food products, excluding retail sale of automotive fuel, increased by 33.1%, and motor fuels – increased by 2.1%.

The increase in retail trade turnover in January 2022 was achieved mainly due to an increase in the volume of retail trade in non-food products, as strict trade restrictions decreased compared to January of the previous year. Compared to January 2020, before the pandemic, the increase in turnover is 4.7%.

Compared to January 2021, the most significant increase in turnover was in retail sale of clothing, footwear and leather goods (2.3 times), in non-specialized stores selling non-food goods (by 71.9%) and in retail sale of cultural and recreational goods (by 71.9%). 63.8%). The largest decrease in turnover was in retail sale of clothing, footwear and leather goods (by 25.0%), retail sale via stalls and markets (by 8.0%) and retail sale of hardware, tools, construction materials and sanitary equipment (by 2.5%).

In January 2022, compared to December, the total turnover of retail trade enterprises at current prices, excluding seasonality, decreased by 18.9%.
