In Chartres, parents of students are asking for the creation of a bus line between the Saint-Chéron district and the Jean-Moulin college

Today, a CM2 student going to Farman primary school, in the Saint-Chéron district, in Chartres, is returning to sixth form at Jean Moulin college, his sector establishment. Problem, to get there, students living in the neighborhood must take two buses. “We are the only district for which this situation arises”, begins Cécile, member of the GAssociation of Parents of Students at Jean Moulin College. Like her, around twenty parents of students mobilized in front of the Farman primary school on Tuesday, May 31.

They ask for a direct line

“We feel left out because we have been asking since 2020 for Filibus to set up a direct shuttle in the morning, midday and late afternoon, and we have so far had no response from their go. »

Out of around 300 schoolchildren at Jean Moulin, 80 come from the Saint-Chéron district.

“This means that nearly a quarter of students are disadvantaged compared to others. »

To get to class at 8 a.m., local college students take their first bus at 7:13 a.m. and stop at the stop near the Apostrophe media library to take their second bus, a handful of minutes later. “In theory, that’s it, except that all it takes is for one bus to be late or the other to be early and nothing goes. In addition to getting up much earlier than the others, our children miss the connection, or sometimes cannot get on the full bus, which does not stop at the stops. Inevitably, they are stressed because they have to run everywhere. »

The parents of students hope that this dysfunction will be resolved for the start of the school year in September.

“As of last September, we set up a direct line for Wednesdays. For the other days, we made sure to facilitate correspondence, so that the students arrived early at the college. Despite some hiccups at the start, it works very well today. So we have not planned to set up a direct line, ”says Gérard Besnard, vice-president of Chartres Métropole in charge of transport.

In Chartres, some users will continue to wear the mask in public transport
