The federal government reported that during Apriltogether with the Federal Health Sector, will carry out a campaign intensive vaccination against Covid-19 throughout the country.
Through a statement, the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) indicated that the objective is to serve the population over 18 years of age who have not received any dose, those who need to complete their scheme or receive the third dose.

Requirements to receive the vaccine
The AstraZeneca vaccine will be applied in the Social Security Medical Units. To receive it, the beneficiaries and the population in general do not need an appointment, just go to the place where it is applied and request it with a official identification. Before receiving, the Institute indicated that it is important to consider:
● Those who require a second dose must wait two months after receiving the first dose (56 days).
● The booster dose can be given four months after receiving the second dose.
● It is important that the population knows that the AstraZeneca vaccine can be received as a booster, regardless of the brand of vaccine with which they have been immunized in the initial schedule.
● The goal of vaccination is to prevent as many deaths as possible, as well as serious illnesses from Covid-19.

Special considerations:
● People who have been diagnosed with obesity, hypertension, diabetes, respiratory diseasesthey should receive the complete vaccination schedule, including the booster, because they have the highest risk of becoming infected and presenting severe Covid-19.
● Those who have some specific treatment, should take the medications as indicated by their doctor. Vaccination is not a reason to suspend medication.
● Women pregnant should be vaccinated from 9 weeks of gestation, the AstraZeneca vaccine is safe.
● Women who meet lactating they can be vaccinated. The AstraZeneca vaccine also helps a breastfeeding child.
● When going to the vaccine it is very important that the population notify the Health staff if they have history of severe allergies, that is, they have been hospitalized for that situation. The medical staff will give you the corresponding indications.
● Those who require the vaccine and have a positive Covid-19 test must wait until the symptoms are gone, mainly the fever.
The IMSS reminded the population that hygiene measures must be maintained to avoid contagion by Covid-19, such as frequent hand washing, correct use of face masks and healthy distance to avoid the risk of getting sick.
