As fussball.news reported, the home fans were already venting their anger in the stadium after Borussia Mönchengladbach had lost the Rheinderby 3-1. Immediately afterwards, a good 200 Ultras gained access to the vehicle park, where the players park their cars and the teams park their team buses.
Windshield wipers ripped off
The goal of the followers: According to the eyewitnesses, they wanted to storm the office of the foals. With the help of the police, the on-site security service was able to stop the squad that had already violently gained access to the forecourt. A policewoman is said to have been injured, and the 1. FC Köln team bus was also damaged – among other things, the left windshield wiper was torn off.
Bonhof faces Ultra Squad
While it could be seen how individual players did not dare to come out and waited in the stairwell, Gladbach’s Vice President Rainer Bonhof and leading players such as captain Lars Stindl took the initiative and calmed the fans down, who then applauded and left peacefully.
