‘I’m back after serving 19 years’… Serial killer “Bikini Killer” returns to France

French society is nervous about the return of Charles Sobraz, 78, a serial killer who committed more than 20 murders across Asia in the 1970s and served time in Nepal.

According to AFP news agency, Sobraz was confirmed to enter the country via Paris on the same day.

According to airport sources, it was taken by border police upon arrival for identification, AFP reported.

Previously, he had been released the day before (23rd) and boarded a plane at Kathmandu airport. So, he arrived in Paris via Doha, Qatar.

Sobraz is a real-life character from the British BBC series ‘The Serpent’, a series of serial killers targeting female travelers in South Asia. He is also known as the “bikini killer”.

His crimes took place in various places, including Afghanistan, India, Thailand, Turkey, Nepal, Iran and Hong Kong, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2003 by a Nepalese court and served 19 years.

Subsequently, his request for parole was granted, citing health problems, and he was able to return to his home country.
