Ilze Jākobsone returns to ‘TTT Rīga’ after a six-year break

Ilze Jākobsone made her debut in TTT on October 13, 2012, in the Latvian-Estonian league home game against “AmEst Rapla” (112: 54). The leader of the game played 49 games in two seasons, scored 354 points, won 109 balls under the baskets and made 87 assists. Under the leadership of coach Aigars Nerips he became the Latvian champion (2014) and the winner of the Latvian-Estonian league (2014).

Jākobsone made the most passes in the Latvian-Estonian league for two seasons in a row: in the 2017 season 195 passes in 30 games (average 6.5) and in the 2018 season 29 games in 29 games (average 6.1). This helped her get into the national team’s twelfth start of EuroBasket Women 2017 and qualify for the World Cup for the first time.

Last season, Jacobson’s Rutronik Stars Keltern team finished first in the German Bundesliga, but was left without a title. This was the first time since the league was founded in 1946. Ilze scored 8.2 points on average in 22:19 minutes. The defense made 2.4 assists and won 2.05 rebounds, as well as 45% two-point and 38% three-point throws.

He made his Latvian national team debut on May 24, 2016 in Riga against Belarus. She has represented the team in two European finals (2017, 2019), scoring 81 points in 28 games. He has scored 237 points in 48 games in the youth team, including 172 points in 34 games in the U20 team. Two-time Latvian champion (2012, 2014).
