Doctor and social media activist Richard Lee He was detained starting tonight, Monday (27/12), related to cases of illegal data access.
“Yes, starting tonight, the arrests have been made,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya to Kombes Pol Endra Zulpan, in his statement, Monday (27/12).
“Tomorrow we will convey the details,” he continued.
Previously, the beautician was named a suspect in the case of illegal access and the disappearance of evidence and was charged with Article 30 jo. Article 46 of the ITE Law and/or Article 231 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 221 of the Criminal Code, on Thursday (12/8).
After the examination at that time, he was not detained by investigators and was only required to report.
This case cannot be separated from Richard’s feud with celebrity Kartika Putri regarding the review of the ‘Helwa’ beauty cream.
Head of the Advocacy Bureau of the Jakarta Legal Aid Institute (LBH) Nelson Simamora assessed that Richard Lee could not be named a suspect in Article 30 of the ITE Law.
“You can’t because Article 30 states that it clearly belongs to someone else. Meanwhile, it (the account) belongs to him,” he said.
According to Nelson, the account still belongs to Richard Lee even though the police have determined it as evidence. “So the account was confiscated, not the police, but Richard Lee,” said Nelson.
