IKEA comes to the exhibition park

The Swedish furniture giant IKEA is now coming to Vorarlberg. According to the business press agency, the location should be in the exhibition park. The opening is planned for late autumn 2020 and is supposed to be a new type of IKEA.

IKEA will use around 600 square meters of space on the second floor of the exhibition park, which was previously used for the children’s play area. After the renovation work, the opening is scheduled for November 2020, Messepark managing director Burkhard Dünser told the business press agency.

Not a classic location

It is important to note that IKEA will not be implementing a classic location in the exhibition park, since the necessary sales areas with several 1,000 square meters are naturally also missing. “IKEA will implement a completely new concept here that is otherwise only found in international cities of over a million,” says Dünser. The furniture retailer is investing around 1.1 million euros for this.
