Tokyo: If population decline is not controlled, Japan’s population will soon disappear from the face of the earth, warns. This was stated by Masako Mori, an advisor to Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. He was reacting after the report came out that the birth rate in Japan has decreased significantly.
“If our course is like this, the country itself will disappear soon” – these are the words said by Mori in an interview given to a media. Last year, more than twice the birth rate in Japan died. The population has decreased from 128 million in 2008 to 124.6 million. But there has been a 29 percent increase in the number of people aged 65 and above.
Kishida says that this is not a gradual decline but a very rapid change. Government sources also indicate that if something is not done quickly, Japan’s social situation will collapse.
