Valentino Rossi is rumored to be close to the Yamaha SRT Petronas team in MotoGP 2021. That makes one of the Malaysian riders excited.
Rossi’s contract at Yamaha will expire at the end of the 2020 season. His position in the Yamaha MotoGP Monster Energy team has also been replaced by Fabio Quartararo, who has been upgraded from the Petronas Yamaha satellite team.
Khairul Idham Pawi, who this season was relegated to Moto3, has the potential to be a team with Rossi next season. He claimed to be closer to The Doctor.
“It would be great to have him in this team. Rossi is a hero, a nine-time world champion, and certainly we can learn from him, from his experience,” Pawi said as reported by Crash.
“I want to practice with him. For example, he has a private track, a kind of farm, and wants to go there. That’s my dream!” said the 21-year rider.
MotoGP 2020 itself is planned to be held this month. The inaugural series will be held at the Jerez Circuit, Spain, on 19 July.
