Ieva’s Heartbreak: Her First Love Proposal and Unexpected Divorce

“Oh, oh, oh, first love,” says Ieva with a smile. It turns out that at the age of 17 Ieva was proposed for the first time, she accepted the proposal. Her first love was called Rihards.

“I had a beautiful ring. We agreed that we would ask my parents for permission, my mom allowed. He proposed to me on Christmas, on my name day.” Ieva agreed to the proposal, but made her think about whether she should wait for adulthood. “I said yes, but let it stay more like a promise ring. You can’t say yes, because you’re not responsible for yourself yet.”

The groom-to-be also allegedly agreed with Ieva. “A year passed, next Christmas, already on my name day, he called me and told me to meet at “Origo”. I already knew then that something was wrong.”

“He came with a red rose and announced that he wanted a divorce. And I’m still engaged and a little bit in love,” recalls Ieva.
