D.The WhatsApp Messenger was out of use for about two hours on Tuesday. Parent company Meta confirmed a global collapse.
“We are aware that some people are currently experiencing problems with sending and messaging and we are working to restore WhatsApp as soon as possible,” a spokesperson for the parent company of WhatsApp Meta, which also owns Facebook, confirmed in the morning.
Users from Germany, Great Britain, India or South Africa have reported problems. On the German portal “All ailments” around 9am, error messages and complaints on WhatsApp piled up. Meanwhile, more than 200,000 affected people have reported.
After about two hours, the service was again available to many users. Meta has not yet commented on the exact cause.
