ICT: Huawei Algeria invests in Algerian universities

Huawei Algeria, provided 5 national universities with computer equipment within the framework of the “Algeria HUAWEI ICT Academy” program, in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and that of Post, Telecommunications, Technologies and digital.

According to a press release from Huawei Algeria, the universities concerned by this program are the USTHB (Beb Ezzouar), the National School of Computer Science, the University of Saida and the post and telecommunications institutes (INPTIC) of Kalitous (Algiers) and Oran.

On this occasion, the Minister of Higher Education, Abdelbaki Benziane, estimated that this kind of initiative “will allow the transfer of know-how for young Algerian talents”.

For his part, the General Manager of Huawei Algeria Mr. Alex Daiqing recalled Huawei’s contribution in the construction of telecommunications networks from 2G, 3G, 4G LTE and optical fiber in Algeria, indicating that Huawei is ready to support the youth and Algerian talents in their career.

A special fund for universities

The boss of Huawei Algeria revealed during this ceremony that the Chinese telecoms giant intends to launch, during the first half of 2021, a “Special Algeria HUAWEI ICT Academy Fund”.

the fund “aims to prepare partner universities for classroom training in the post-pandemic period”. A launch that will be announced at a conference to be organized soon.
