Icelandic midfielder on his way to Vålerenga

The midfielder travels to Oslo to sign for Vålerenga before New Year’s Eve.

Rosenborg, Bodø / Glimt, Vålerenga and several Swedish clubs have all shown interest in Lecce player Brynjar Ingi Bjarnason.

Now Vålerenga, according to Nettavisen’s information, has won the battle for the Icelander’s signature.

The midfielder arrives in Oslo this Christmas to undergo a medical test and sign a long-term contract with Vålerenga if everything goes according to plan.

Bjarnason comes from the former Serie A club Lecce, which currently plays in Serie B – level two in Italy.

The 22-year-old made his debut for the Icelandic national team in a training match against Mexico in May and has since played another nine international matches.

Bjarnason came to Lecce from Icelandic KA this summer, but has only played one match in Serie B after the transfer.
