The Czechs have four points after the first qualifying loss and are second. Today’s opponents are only one point behind and they have a good match. Three-point Belarus, with third place, have two less duels. They are led by the Dutch, who defeated Cyprus 8: 0 today and have seven points.
The Czech national team wanted to build on a successful entry into the qualification in Iceland, as in September they first drew 1: 1 on the pitch of the favored Dutch and then declassified Cyprus 8: 0 at home. But they didn’t start well and collected for the first time in 12 minutes. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Thorvaldsdóttirová was on his own in the home side’s penalty area and should have scored after 80 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
