Iberia is expanding its offer to Latin America

The Spanish national airline will resume the last two outstanding destinations after the pandemic in the 2022/23 winter flight schedule. From November, it will offer three weekly flights to Caracas and Rio de Janeiro. Other frequency increases in Latin America include: Havana, which will be increased from three to five weekly flights by Iberia, the Guatemala-El Salvador route, which will be increased from five to seven weekly flights, and Quito will have six weekly flights, adding three more to come with Guayaquil.

Mexico remains the market with the greatest supply, along with Bogotá and Buenos Aires, where Iberia will have two daily flights this winter season. Santiago de Chile, Lima and São Paulo will continue to have one daily flight, as will San José, which will be increased from six to seven weekly frequencies. Montevideo and Panama are served six times weekly and Puerto Rico is served four times throughout the winter.

In the US, the main innovation is the extension of the Dallas connection, which Iberia originally planned to last until October 29th. The airport is the main hub of American Airlines, a partner of Iberia, British Airways, Finnair and Aer Lingus as part of the joint venture between Europe and North America, which has helped generate enough traffic to sustain this route in winter, with three weekly flights through February and four in March.

In addition, Iberia has seen increases in several US destinations compared to last winter. In Miami, weekly frequencies will increase from 10 to 14 (two daily flights) and in New York from 10 to 13, which will increase to 14 in March.
