“I would have been told that on my hospital bed…”, realizes Kevin Rolland after his 6th place

“I would have been told that three years ago on my hospital bed, I would have more than signed. The results are very positive. He was already after qualifying, but now he is even more so. I’m happy, I managed to do three nice runs, on my feet (without falling). It’s been a long time since that happened to me, even when I was in great shape. I would have been sixth in any competition a few years ago, I would be crying, but now I’m happy. »

Did you think, eight years after your bronze in Sochi, that a new Olympic podium was within your reach?

“I am a dreamer and I dreamed of this medal. No one believed it except me. It’s important in life to believe in yourself, to allow yourself to dream. This is how great things are accomplished. I’ve been dreaming for three years and I dreamed even more this morning when I told myself that I had little joker tricks that could have gotten me on the box. And then I saw this wind… I said to myself, we’re going to make the wise decision to be sure, to do things that I’m good at, not to take too many risks, not to try everything and give scares to everyone around me. We must draw conclusions from our experience. I didn’t want to ruin the party with a big fall. But it’s not a disappointment today, because sixth is very respectable. »

Does this Olympic final reward all the efforts made to return to the highest level after your accident?
