LOMBOK TENGAH, KOMPAS.TV – A junior high school student in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, married a 17 year old teenager because he was unable to endure a difficult life.
Quoted from Kompas.com, EB (15) admitted that he accepted UD’s proposal (17) because he believed that UD could make his life better.
Because while living with his grandmother, EB lived a difficult life. He lives with his grandmother, Salmah (80) after her parents divorced.

Her father tried to work as a migrant worker in Malaysia, while her mother has remarried.
“I’m confused about what else to do, I haven’t been to school for four months. I don’t have a cellphone, I can’t follow online studies. When UD came with his family and asked me to go to my grandmother, I wanted to get married,” said EB at his home, in Kumbak Dalem Hamlet, Setiling Village, Batukliang District, Central Lombok, Sunday (25/10/2020).
Meanwhile her husband, UD works in the forest. Before getting married, he worked as a laborer in Bali.
