Rudi Garcia gave an interview to Corriere dello Sport this Thursday, he who celebrates his 56 years today. The current OL coach notably confessed to having tried to recruit Moussa Dembélé when he was at OM.

Moussa Dembélé has been playing since summer 2018 at OL. So at Celtic, the former Fulham scorer trained at PSG had almost joined OM that summer. The Marseille club was looking for a famous “grantatakan” and the name of Dembélé had been associated with OM at the very end of the transfer window. Finally, the latter joined OL and Marseille had to wait for the transfer window afterwards to recruit Mario Balotelli.
Last May, L’Equipe revealed that Andoni Zubizarreta had tried to bring Moussa Dembélé to OM, but that Rudi Garcia had opposed it. A version denied by the current OL coach this Thursday in an interview with Corriere dello Sport: “Moussa is maturing, but it is still early to know his true potential. I am very happy in any case to be able to train him, because I had tried to take him to OM, “he said.
This season, the 23-year-old French striker has already played 37 games and scored 19 goals with OL. His name has been no surprise associated with big clubs for months and it would not be surprising if he hosted the next summer transfer window.
