Saturday was Wiesinger exempted from cultural affairs as an ombudswoman, The ministry feels betrayed by the teacher. The ÖVP sees their behavior as a “clear breach of trust”.
“I can understand that the Ministry sees it that way. I’ve been an Austrian for long enough and I know how difficult it is to be independent when it comes to independence,” explains the Viennese in the “Ö1-Morgenjournal”. It clearly does not want to be on any party political side.
When asked why she is now publishing this book, she replied: “I am not committed to a political cabinet, but to the state as an official. I have fully observed loyalty in my role as an ombudswoman. I looked closely at the problems. And the problems are due to the fact that party politics has such a big influence. “
Your contract would have run until February. The activity report is ready. This was handed over to the then Minister Iris Rauskala in December.
Back to school?
During her time as head of the ombudsman, Susanne Wiesinger held around 160 interviews with hundreds of teachers. However, whether and how this report should be presented is still unclear.
In her book, Wiesinger criticizes that the Ministry of Education seems to be decoupled from the problems at the schools. In their view, this applies not only to the Ministry of Education, but also to the directorates of education.
Many would just sit around and not know what’s going on in schools. “I’ve been a teacher long enough, I know these problems very well,” says Wiesinger. How her career will continue is also open. Monday morning she has an appointment at the Ministry.
Recently it was reported that she would like to work as a teacher again. “I can be called anger teacher. It is up to the media. But it would be better if the media dealt with the content of the report and less with me personally.”
