The future of the Movement. “The time has come to refound itself: an era is closing today – says Di Maio – And it is because of the importance of this moment that I started writing this document a month ago. Once the facilitators have been appointed, my task is finished ». But the Five Stars movement, assures the resigned leader, «It is not finished, indeed it has just begun. The M5s – he explains – is a visionary project that had never been carried out before and that has no equal in the world: we have come to the government, we have indicated an excellent Prime Minister and two excellent teams of ministers and undersecretaries. No one would be ready to bet on our future yet, we were the analysts’ nightmare but it is not over, it has just begun. The growth project for the next decades continues ».
Di Maio does not, however, renounce to remove some pebbles from his shoe: «We have many enemies, someone who resists and makes war on us. But no political force has ever been defeated from the outside. The worst enemies are those who work within us not for the group but for their visibility. Many in recent months have accused me of being too naive – he adds – I don’t feel like it but I prefer to be naive than to be considered a cheater. And I personally keep thinking about it despite the many betrayals. There are those who have been in the rear and, without taking responsibility, came out into the open just to stab in the back».
The budget. “There is no going back from the laws we have passed. If they try to cancel the anti-corruption law, prescription or citizenship income there will be thousands of people in the square to prevent it.
