Jakarta

The Hyundai Kona EV (Electric Vehicle) is one of Hyundai’s pioneer models in the electric SUV scene. After debuting in 2018, now the appearance of the Hyundai Kona EV has been refreshed to be more sporty. Performance is even better with a longer distance than the previous model.

Hyundai has unveiled the Kona EV 2024. Through leaked photos circulating, the appearance of the latest Kona EV has completely changed. Now it looks like the MPV Hyundai Staria, with a line of LED lights extending at the end of the hood. Changes were also made to the main lights, fog lamps and bumpers.

Slide to the side, the Kona EV 2024 has a more aerodynamic design. At first glance, the side body resembles the design language of the Ioniq 5. The design of the wheels has also changed to a contemporary one. The Kona EV also gets a rear spoiler, much like modern electric SUVs like the Toyota bZ4X. Then what about performance?

Quoted from Carscoops, The European version of the 2024 Hyundai Kona EV will be offered in Standard Range and Long Range configurations. The former has a 48.4 kWh battery pack and an electric motor that produces 154 hp (115 kW/156 PS) and 188 lb-ft (255 Nm) of torque.

Hyundai didn’t elaborate on many other specifications, but said it has a range (WLTP) of over 304 miles (490 km).

Hyundai also revealed that the Kona Electric has 400V technology. Although not as sophisticated as the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, drivers can charge their car from 10% to 80% in just 41 minutes via a fast charger.

Hyundai also notes that the model sports a new single pedal driving mode, the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, and a drag coefficient of 0.27. Buyers will also find a battery precondition system, a new charging port door lamp, and a frozen charge door prevention system that will work at temperatures of -30° C (-22° F).
