11:20 am: When the wild barbecue degenerates
Several incidents took place in Ile-de-France Tuesday evening. In Val-de-Marne, around thirty people gathered in the parking lot of a supermarket in Villecresnes to have a “wild barbecue”. When they were dispersed, the police were said to have received projectiles, before the individuals entrenched themselves in a district of Brunoy, a neighboring town. There, they allegedly burned garbage cans and dispersed construction site barriers on the public highway, forcing the police to use tear gas and make “three arrests”, according to the prefecture.
A boon for the 300 to 500 people gathered at the same time at the Condorcet stadium in Grigny in Essonnes, to attend an illegal football match between two districts of Grigny and Corbeil-Essonnes. The police, who were only there on “surveillance”, did not intervene so as not to create a new overflow and because their forces were already at Brunoy …
