On the German and Swiss roads, initiatives are multiplying to develop this green energy

Germany »The liquid hydrogen dispenser at the Shell service station on Rothenbachstrasse in Berlin’s Pankow district is by no means futuristic. It is just a little more massive and newer than its “comrades” who distribute, a few meters further, carbonaceous and polluting fossil fuels. It is also much less frequented.

“It is the most recent distributor installed in Berlin”, welcomes Falk Schulte-Wintrop, director of strategic development for the company H2 mobility, the product of an alliance between the French and German multinationals Air Liquide, Daimler, Linde, OMV , Shell and Total. “It can power 50 to 60 cars a day.” A distributor like this costs around 1.5 million euros. The company has already installed 84 in Germany out of the 100 it plans by the end of the year.
