Hussein Fahmy returns to the stage in the show “Issak Thief”

Cairo – “Al-Quds Al-Arabi”: After an absence of 14 years, the Egyptian artist Hussein Fahmy will present the show “Issab Harami” at the “Modern Theater” in Cairo on the occasion of the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr. The comedy was written by Sarah Hejres and directed by Issam Al-Sayed, for whom he previously directed the comedy “Welcome to You” starring Izzat Al-Alayli.
Hussein Fahmy only presented 4 plays for the theatre, namely ‘Required for Recruitment’ in 1981, ‘The Beginning and the End’ in 1985, ‘Sahlab’ in 1992 and ‘Welcome to Kawat’ in 2006.
In another context, Hussein Fahmy continues to shoot the series ‘Sir Al-Sultan’, inspired by the story of the late writer Youssef Idris, ‘Sara Bata’. The series is expected to be screened in the month of Ramadan 2023. More than 60 actors and actresses of different generations will participate.
Hussein Fahmy also meets his brother Mustafa, for the first time in their artistic history, through the “Sons of Al-Hilalia” series, with the participation of a large group of artists, including Naglaa Badr, Afaf Shuaib, Madeleine Tabar and Hamdi Al Wazir.
The series takes place in Upper Egypt, is written by Suleiman Diab, directed by Fathi Abdel Aziz and starts shooting in mid-January, in preparation for the show during Ramadan.
Film-wise, Hussein Fahmy starred in the film ‘The Atheist’, written by Ibrahim Issa, directed by Mohamed Gamal El-Adl, and starring Tara Emad, Sherine Reda, Ahmed Hatem and Mahmoud Hamida.
