“Yesterday, the traffic police crews acted in cascade on DN1C E576, to prevent and combat the consumption of alcohol and psychoactive substances. Following the activities, 37 sanctions were applied in the amount of approximately 29,000 lei, of which 5 for alcohol consumption. For non-compliance with traffic rules, the police officers withheld 25 driving licenses, in order to suspend the exercise of the right to drive. In the case of 12 vehicles stopped for traffic control and which showed technical defects, the registration certificates were retained. At the same time, the traffic policemen found 13 traffic offenses on public roads, of which 12 for driving a vehicle under the influence of psychoactive substances and 1 for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol “, IPJ Cluj reports.
For example, on July 15, around 9.20 pm, they stopped in traffic for control a car driven by a 37-year-old man from Cluj County.
“The driver was tested with the Drugtest device, the result being positive, so he was taken to a medical unit to collect biological samples, in order to accurately determine the substances consumed,” reads a press release of the IPJ Cluj.
